Collections Management

Expanded and professionalized the collections management system for a collection of over 300 works of art and antiques held by The Colonial Dames of America, Chapter II, in the historic Lemon Hill Mansion in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, PA.  Reviewed policies and procedures for loans, gifts, storage/transportation, etc.  Improved object inventory records by researching and updating provenance information; devising and implementing a numbering system for the objects; and creating a photographic record of each piece.

Legal Support

Acted as consulting expert in litigation concerning contractual obligations of owner of art, including assessment of the value of art and advising counsel concerning litigation and settlement strategies.

Collections Assessment and Sales Management

Researched and recommended sales venues for artwork held by various private individuals, foundations, and estates. Represented clients in negotiating terms of sale with galleries and auction houses, as well as overseeing sales process and resolution.

Logistics Coordination

Arranged and oversaw logistics for an active international traveling exhibits program at a major New York City museum. Provided door-to-door logistics, including air, ocean and rail transportation, customs clearance, storage, etc. The exhibitions traveled around the globe to numerous countries including England, Italy, Australia, Brazil, China, Abu Dhabi, Japan, and Singapore.

Exhibitions Planning and Management

Organized and managed new traveling exhibitions. Created necessary documentation for exhibition “handbook”, negotiated terms with borrowing venues, performed condition reports on all works of art, and arranged transportation.

Conservation Coordination and Oversight

Identified a conservator with appropriate expertise to clean and restore a painting by an important 20th century artist. Oversaw the treatment process on behalf of client. The painting, in its improved state, sold for twice the amount of an offer made prior to conservation.
